GERMAN AND EUROPEAN MARKET
DVGW certification
The DVGW (Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfaches) is Germany’s leading body for certifying products in contact with gas and drinking water.
Full DVGW certification demonstrates compliance with both UBA (German Environment Agency) requirements for metallic materials and the requirements for organic materials. It ensures safety, hygiene and environmental protection for all components intended for contact with drinking water.
It is essential for the German and European market, where compliance requirements for plumbing products are among the strictest in the world.
MATERIALS IN CONTACT WITH DRINKING WATER
KTW-BWGL
The KTW-BWGL certification applies specifically to organic (non-metallic) materials such as plastics, rubber gaskets and lubricants used in products in contact with drinking water.
Metallic components are governed by parallel German Environment Agency (UBA) regulations known as the “Assessment criteria for metallic materials” (Metall-Bewertungsgrundlage).
Mandatory from March 2021 for the German market, it ensures that all non-metallic materials meet the strictest migration limits and suitability requirements for contact with water intended for human consumption.
FRENCH MARKET
Attestation de Conformité Sanitaire
ACS (Attestation de Conformité Sanitaire) is the mandatory French sanitary certification for equipment in contact with water intended for human consumption.
Essential for the French market, it ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and that products meet the health and safety requirements set out in French legislation.
The certificate, valid for five years, is issued by the Laboratoire Santé Environnement Hygiène de Lyon and includes in-depth testing of material composition and migration.
ITALIAN PUBLIC PROCUREMENT
Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM)
CAM Edilizia are mandatory environmental requirements for Italian public procurement, in force since January 2023. They are a key tool for promoting Green Public Procurement and reducing environmental impact in construction.
The declaration of conformity depends on the reference standard of the Decree-Law. With the entry into force of CAM 2025 (February 2026), requirements will become even more stringent.
